Why you need this
Your broker provides your live trading account. Your deposit goes to your broker — not to ELEV8.
Inside the broker portal, create the trading account that MT5 will connect to. For a VT Markets manual-trading example, a member may use MT5 → Live → Swap-Free Standard STP. Always follow the account type assigned during your onboarding.
VT Markets example: on the mobile Home screen, tap the blue Deposit button. Select the exact MT5 live account you created, choose an available payment method, enter the amount and follow the broker's instructions.
What to expect: available funding methods, processing times, minimums, currencies and fees can vary by country/account. Read the broker screen before confirming.
Save the MT5 account/login number, trading password and exact server assigned by your broker. These connect MT5 to the broker account.
When connected, MT5 should show live prices and your correct account balance.
Open Quotes/search symbols and find your broker's Gold symbol. On the VT Markets Standard account used in this guide, look for XAUUSD-STD. Symbols/suffixes can differ by broker and account type.
BUY/SELL is direction. Entry is the intended entry price/zone. SL is the protective Stop Loss. TP is a Take Profit target.
Use the Home dashboard's Latest Signal card to copy the individual Entry, SL and TP values — never paste the whole signal into one MT5 field.
Go back to your broker Client Portal — not MT5 and not ELEV8.
VT Markets example: Home → Withdrawal → choose the correct account/method → enter the amount → review → submit.
Withdrawal methods, checks, processing times and fees can vary by broker and country.| Starting Balance | Suggested Volume | Max Risk if SL Is Hit | Example Target at 1:2 |
|---|---|---|---|
| $300+ | 0.01 lot | $10 | $20+ |
| $1,000+ | 0.02 lot | $20 | $40+ |
| $2,000+ | 0.03 lot | $30 | $60+ |
| $3,000+ | 0.05 lot | $50 | $100+ |
| $5,000+ | 0.08 lot | $80 | $160+ |
| $10,000+ | 0.10 lot | $100 | $200+ |
If this signal's Entry-to-SL distance equals about a $10 loss at 0.01 lot:
Illustrative profit = +$220
Illustrative ending balance = $520
TP HITA posted Take Profit target was reached.
MOVE SL TO BEMove the Stop Loss near the Entry price when instructed. BE means breakeven.
PARTIAL / SECURE PROFITClose part of the position when instructed, if you know how to do so.
CLOSE / EXITClose the open trade instead of waiting for another target.
NO UPDATEKeep the original plan. Do not invent a new SL or TP yourself.
BUYA trade expecting price to rise.
SELLA trade expecting price to fall.
EntryThe price or zone where you may open the trade.
SL / Stop LossThe protective exit if the trade goes against you.
TP / Take ProfitThe planned price where profit may be taken.
Lot / VolumeThe size of your trade. Bigger lot = bigger profit or loss movement.
Breakeven / BEMoving the Stop Loss near Entry so the trade is protected if price reverses.
Partial / Secure ProfitClose part of the trade and leave the rest running when instructed.
Close / ExitEnd the open trade. If ELEV8 says CLOSE, do not wait for another TP.
Pending OrderAn order waiting for price to reach a chosen level before opening.
Market OrderBUY or SELL immediately at the best available current price.
SpreadThe small difference between the broker's Buy and Sell prices.
SlippageYour trade fills slightly away from the price you expected, usually in fast markets.
Risk-to-Reward / R:RCompares what you may lose with what you aim to make. Example: risk $10 to target $20 = 1:2.
Win RateThe percentage of trades that finish as winners. Win rate alone does not determine profitability.
DrawdownHow much the account has fallen from a previous higher value.
BalanceYour account money after closed trades are counted.
EquityYour account value right now, including profit or loss from open trades.
MarginMoney temporarily reserved by the broker while a leveraged trade is open.
Free MarginThe remaining account cushion available while trades are open.
LeverageAllows a smaller amount of margin to control a larger position. It does not make a large lot safer.
Margin LevelA measure of account pressure. Higher is generally healthier; falling too low can trigger broker restrictions or forced closures.
Floating P/LThe changing profit or loss on a trade that is still open.
Support / ResistancePrice areas traders watch because price may react, pause or reverse there.
Trading Credit / BonusPromotional broker credit that may support margin. It is not the same as withdrawable cash.
Check the current market price against the Entry range first. If price has already moved significantly away from the entry, do not chase it. Wait for another opportunity or further instructions from the trader.
The Entry range is the intended price zone for opening the trade. Before entering, confirm price is still reasonably within that zone and the signal is still active.
SL means Stop Loss — the planned exit if the trade moves against you. TP means Take Profit — a target where profit may be secured. TP1, TP2 and TP3 are successive profit targets.
BE means Break Even. When the trader instructs you to move SL to BE, move the Stop Loss to or around the entry price as instructed so the remaining trade has reduced downside from the original risk.
Close part of the open position to secure some profit while leaving the rest of the trade open.
Prices move continuously. Spread, execution timing, liquidity and slippage can make your filled price different from the posted signal. Different brokers can also display slightly different quotes.
Do not copy another person's lot size blindly. Use the ELEV8 Signal Help & Risk Guide and choose volume based on your own account size and risk. Larger volume increases both potential profit and potential loss.
No. You decide which trades you take and how much you risk. Missing a trade is better than chasing an entry or taking risk you are not comfortable with.
Select the instrument, open New Order, enter your volume, add the signal's SL and TP when applicable, then choose Buy or Sell. Always double-check the symbol, direction and lot size before confirming.
BUY is used when the setup expects price to rise. SELL is used when the setup expects price to fall.
A pending order tells the platform to open a trade later if price reaches a specified level. It is different from a market order, which attempts to enter at the current available price.
Your SL or TP may be on the wrong side of the current price or too close to it for that instrument or broker. Recheck the signal levels and the current market price before trying again.
Common reasons include insufficient free margin, an invalid lot size, the market being closed, an unavailable symbol, connection problems or invalid order settings. Check the message shown by MT5 first.
Margin is the amount supporting your open positions. Free Margin is the amount still available to support additional trading activity. Opening larger or additional positions generally uses more margin.
Your broker uses identity verification to confirm account information and meet its account requirements. Follow the broker's instructions and make sure the information on your documents matches your application.
Check the broker's rejection reason first. Correct the requested issue — such as unclear, expired or mismatched information — rather than repeatedly uploading the same document.
Use the Deposit or Funding section inside your broker's official client portal and follow the available payment instructions. Do not send funds using payment details provided by an unverified person or chat.
Check your broker transaction history and the status of your payment method. If the payment is completed on your side but is not reflected in your account, contact the broker with the transaction reference.
Use the Withdrawal section of your broker's official client portal. Available methods, verification requirements and processing times depend on the broker and account.
